Born in Chicago, IL, I began my life as a photographer exploring and photographing the city and people around me. In Zen it is all about the moment. This is true in photography as well and I realized very early that this is the power of this medium. We believe a photograph and it impacts us because it’s true. Making a photograph is to capture a moment in time and through the print, render the visual truth, or in many cases, the mystery of that moment. When I moved out west and began photographing the natural landscapes and the wild creatures that live here, this ability to translate what I experienced took on new meaning for me. I wish to capture that magical moment where light and land and subject all come together create not only a beautiful scene, but an experience of something larger.
