I am an anthropologist working on issues of culture, social development and environmental sustainability, currently based in Manila, Philippines. I have been dabbling in photography since around 2003 with a basic point and shoot camera. I moved to an entry-level digital SLR camera in November 2007. I am of Sri Lankan origin and have lived in several South Asian countries and North America for work and school, and travelled extensively in Europe.
I especially enjoy taking photos of landscapes, trees, shrines, rituals, old buildings and people in their socio-cultural contexts.
My approach to travel and photography: "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes" (Marcel Proust).
