Hello, I'm Kelvin Taylor and I've been taking photos for nearly 25 years. I starting shooting nature scenes with a point and shot camera on my first trip summer vacation to Pennsylvania as a teenager. The mountains and scenery of western PA caught my attention and the love for the outdoors continued to grow from then on.
My first camera was a manual Pentax K1000. I started out taken wildflower shots then with my first visit to a waterfall in western North Carolina in the 1980's, I caught the waterfall hiking bug too. Since that time I have visited many parks, nature preserves and wilderness areas in my home state of North Carolina capturing as much beauty as I can. My switch to digital came in December of 2000. Since then I've only shot 2 rolls of film.
Most all my work is nature scenes where I feel most comfortable. I'm out shooting about every day many times experimenting in my back yard. I'm still learning the art of photography. To make my photography skills better I've talked with other photographers, read articles and this past February I attended a nature photography workshop hosted by John Shaw. I really thought that was an excellent program and I came away with a better understanding of how to take good images. Nothing is quite as rewarding than to see a good shot of what nature had created.
I'm glad to be a part of this group and look forward to meeting and talking with other fellow shooters.
