Thank You for viewing my photos! All my life I have been interested in photography. I was always the one who gathered and organized the family photo albums. However, it was not until 2007 that I finally bought my first DSLR in an attempt to make photography a serious hobby. As a hunter, the main reason I started in photography was to take pictures of the animals (mainly whitetail deer) that I was scouting for the upcoming hunting seasons.
I am a graduate student at Kent State University working on my PhD in Exercise Physiology. Due to the amount of time spent with school work I have not had as much time as I would have liked to photograph wildlife. Therefore, when I travel home to Pennsylvania, I spend much of my time sitting in a corn field, wood line, or ground blind trying to capture wildlife in their habitat. As you may notice in my portfolio, there are a few photos of cows. Although they are not wild animals, they have been a part of my life back home for years and I could not resist including some unusual shots I have of them.
While at Kent State I took my camera to one of my friend’s football games. From that point, I was hooked on Sports Photography. My friend got me in contact with the right people and I got a job as a part-time photography for Kent State Athletics. I love shooting sports just as much as wildlife and nature. The two genres are similar in many ways, but do have their nuances that make it a challenge to get the images just right for the client. In the end, it was Sports Photography that helped me learn about the equipment, exposure, post-processing, timing, etc that goes into making great photographs. It has also led me to purchasing longer lenses which come in very handy for wildlife.
About a mile away from my house there is a wooded hollow that is my place of peace where I can relax and concentrate on getting scenic shots of the stream the runs the entire length of the hollow. When I get busy with school, work, or sports photography I know I can take an ATV ride here to get away. I am also working on my first book that will be composed of images from this area.
Again, Thank You for viewing my profile and portfolio. If you would like to purchase any of the photographs do not hesitate to contact me or visit my website. If you have any comments about any of the photos here or on my website they are always welcome!
