I have enjoyed nature photography for over 5 years, a hobby that started from a childhood passion for wildlife. I am a biologist by trade and like to supply information with my images to provide added insight to the subjects or their environment and generate further interest. Most of my pictures are taken in the UK but other areas of recent activity have included the meerkats of South Africa and the coral reefs of the Philippines. I do not like being limited to one environment and will photograph anywhere from mountain tops to the depths of the sea.
In 2005 I won the student category of the British Ecological Society’s photographic competition with my image of a puffin exiting its burrow. To date, I have had images published twice in Amateur photographer magazine and my images have been used by Dorset County Council, The Wildlife Trusts, Coral Cay Conservation, Southern Leyte State University, the Philippine Tourist Board and the Southern Leyte Times newspaper. I contribute to Alamy Images and have sold images around the world for books and editorial use. It is my aim to eventually photograph wildlife on a full-time basis.
