I originally studied photography as a journalism student more than 30 years ago. I am still learning, especially from the excellent contributors to NaturePhotographers.net. I approach photography now as a hobbyist, with most of my time devoted to completing a Ph.D. in education policy (having retired from a senior staff position in a public school system).
So, I am an amateur, and photography has become a terrific pastime – especially near and around my home, where I live with my wife, and where my three adult sons occasionally visit, in North Potomac, Maryland.
