I have loved photography since I received my first camera, a Kodak Browny, when I was about 6 years old. As my family was growing I found my photographic endeavors pretty much dedicated to documenting our growing children but over the past several years they have all left the nest which has given me the time to rediscover the joy of photography. I have always been fascinated by natural history and the outdoors and adding photography to that interest has opened a whole new world of exploration for me. I especially love wild animals of all sorts and they have become my favorite photo subjects and since birds are by far the most numerous animals out there I find myself spending much of my time pursuing the perfect image of as many species as I can find. Some of my most pleasurable moments have come while sitting in grassland blinds or hunkering down in a bag blind on as prairie slough waiting for the sun to rise and listening to and watching the world around me wake. There's magic out there, you just have to look for it.
