"There was a time in my life when I wanted to change the world.
And maybe I still will.
But today let me show you the world –
the world through my eyes.
It’s not about the awards won, the degrees received or the goals achieved.
It’s about helping you understand that not everything is as it seems.
It’s about seeing beauty, even when there appears to be none.
And it’s about finding the split second between what is, and what could be…
and helping you to discover it too."
I have always had a camera in hand as far back as I can remember. I shoot with a Nikon D200 and a Nikon N80 (with Fuji Velvia slide film). I utilize good lenses, a polarizer and a tripod for almost everything. I do work with images in Photoshop CS2, but I am intentional about keeping the integrity of the image intact. I try very hard to not add colors or items that aren't already there, but I love the creative process!
The way I take a photograph, the way I see the world, is an expression of who I am. Every photo is a part of me. Through photography I express myself and, hopefully, meaningfully record the world as well. Photography gives me the chance to capture a moment in time that will never be repeated – a sunset that will never be again, the soul exposed for that split second when the shutter clicks, memories captured in an instant that now can never be forgotten. With photography I can etch in "stone" the life journey I am on and am hopeful that future generations might learn from what I saw and how I saw it.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating it!
