After ten years of free lance photography that included commercial work for several businesses, George decided (in 1997) to try his hand at wildlife photography, specifically, birds of the Everglades and primarily wading birds. Wanting his work to be somewhat different he decided to concentrate on photographing birds in the act of catching their prey. As a result many of the photographs in his exhibits show birds with prey. To capture the action/feeding shots in his exhibits he spent over 3000 hours in the Everglades in a three year period. On a couple of occasions, he was fortunate enough to witness and photograph the predetor become the prey. For example, an adult Great Blue Heron grabbed by an alligator as the GBH struck at its target.
George's work has appeared in several magazines, five of which are, Boy's Life, Birder's World, Florida Wildlife, Nature Photographer and Outdoor and Nature Photography. Additionally, his wildlife photos have been published in The New York Times, Sun Sentinel, The Palm Beach Post, Boca Raton News, Delray News, and New Directions For Better Living.
The Walt Disney Studios leased ten of his images to use in advertising one of their "True Life Adventure Series," a TV documentary entilted, "The Everglades, Home of The Living Dinosaur".
