I was born in Vermont and grew up in its rural countryside, spending time in the outdoors whenever possible. I've been using cameras since I received my first Kodak Brownie as a present on my ninth birthday.
As the years went by, my camera collection and my photography skills improved, allowing me to record my travels and everything happening around me. A variety of cameras knocked around the world with me during my military career . . . and believe me, they needed to feature durability if they were going to stick with me for any amount of time!
Now that I've retired from that first career, I'm enjoying a new career focused on natural resource policy design, Internet communications, photography and videography. Although somewhat eclectic in photo subject selection, much of my current work involves landscapes and wildlife, and our place in relation to them. Although I'm now mostly working with digital cameras, there's a closetful of slides and negatives I've accumulated along the years that are now gradually being sorted for scanning and optimization.
My wife and I are now living on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, not too far from saltwater, where we don't need air confitioning or a large collection of snow shovels. The mountains are just a few miles away, and we can spend one day ridge-hopping amongst the clouds, and the next on some of the world's most rugged and beautiful beaches.
Feel free to spend some time perusing the image collection. Everything is available for purchase, so you can share them in your home or use them to enhance your work.
