Born in 1962 in Catania (Sicily) where he currently lives and works as M.D. Ophthalmologist. Claudio started his piano and music studies at the age of five. After the High School alternated medical studies with electronic and jazz music explorations, performing as keyboards and piano player on live stage and in recording studio sessions with several local area and national artists.
He bought his first Zenith photo camera in Moscow in 1988 starting a gradual self taught learning process through the different photographic technical steps and applications.
During the last decade Claudio has collaborated in quality of music writer with Sony Music Publishing, has collaborated with the indie record label (TRP Music) producing and co-producing several classical and jazz artists and projects. In 1998 has co-founded his own music project INSOUT together with sound engineer and guitar player Riccardo Samperi, releasing two CDs the last one (in 2004) titled "Acoustic Privacy" including as special guest musician the Grammy Awards Winner Paul Wertico on drums.
Since 2005, after discovering the endless expressive opportunities offered by digital photography, Claudio begins to explore and discover new creative approaches to the visual universe.
"My visual moods move through surreal/conceptual/oniric/grotesque and emotional images. Some of my images spread about suddendly from the surrounding reality during my outdoor explorations, other images start living as visions into a recondite area of my brain while I'm playing music or just listening to it. I feel very lucky to involve in most of my projects some enthusiasthic friends which love to share with me lot of fun and emotions on the "battle field". Later on, I spend as well lot of care in the post-processing steps performed on my Mac's "digital white room"...I'm deeply fascinated from strong contrasts and crossed colors as well and I love to follow all the creative steps from the early brainstorming to the final fine art printing process".
