I am a photographer from North Carolina with a fascination with wildlife and birds in particular. I can still recall standing in line at a mess hall on Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio Texas when out of a clear blue sky a falcon hit a pigeon, killing it instantly. It flew into the low branches of a nearby tree and dined completely indifferent to me as I stood less than 15 feet away and watched. I went out immediately thereafter and bought a camera. I got my start before digital cameras existed and at times still miss film, but I have learned to love working with RAW files.
