I’ve been taking pictures for over 30 years. I started in college with a few photography courses but I’m mostly self taught. Early in my career I worked in local television as a videographer and photographer and then in the medical photography field. I gave up that career to enter the business world but continued making photographs as my life-long avocation. I work in both color and black and white, whichever seems best suited for the location and the subject.
While my methods have evolved along with the technology – I learned with film and darkrooms, moved on to scanning slides into digital format and then to all digital - my philosophy has not changed: I make photographs that I like to look at. Whether black and white or color, single images or multiple triptychs and diptychs, my goal is simply to make images that are pleasing to me and I hope to others as well. It really is just that simple.
