I was born in Washington, DC but spent my early years growing up in the Shenandoah Valley near the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. From Virginia I served in the Army, worked as a contractor in Germany and Spain, and then settled in New Hampshire for awhile before returning to northern Virginia.
After retiring from the U.S. Government in 2007, I started a second career (nature photography). Places I've worked in this field include: Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks; Blue Ridge Mountains; Blackwater Wildlife Refuge; Asseteague Island; and local nature preserves and lakes in my area. Surprising what one can find close to home, even in a crowed metropolitan setting.
