I've been a professional photographer for eleven years. The majority of the work that I do is for gardening publications and my images have been used extensively in gardening magazines, books, brochures and advertising. Gardens West is one magazine that I work for extensively and to date have almost 100 Gardens West covers to my credit.
Nature photography is a great excuse to be outside, get some fresh air, exercise and when all goes well a few memorable images. Up until a few years ago I photographed just about anything that related to nature. Then I discovered 4x5 transparencies and have found myself ever more drawn to landscapes and the intimate scenes that make up the larger picture. It's only really been in the last couple of years that I have really started to market my landscape work.
Other markets that I really enjoy include conducting seminars, slide shows and small exclusive workshops.
I work with a range of formats ranging from 35mm film, 645 digital and 4x5. Whatever it takes to get the job done and done well.
