Reed Bunting

1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4 TC, 1.500s, f7.1, iso 400, 50% crop.

After an unproductive couple of hours at the local pond, I was walking home when I turned round to see this lovely fellow in the setting sun. I was even luckier, because there was a gale blowing and the top of the reeds were moving several feet both ways. He was obviously getting motion sickness and jumped down to a sheltered bit at camera height. Minimal processing on this one.

Ian,

The lighting here is lovely, I like your choice of composition, the diagonal reed really works well. The light on the background and birds is outstanding, I like the pose, the eye contact, the fine details and sharpness.

I have no nits.

Beautiful colors, excellent composition. Isn't it nice when you think it hasn't been a productive shoot and all of a sudden something appears to make the day brighter. May

Hi Ian. What a great capture! I especially like how the reeds just fade to eventually become background. No nits here! :toast:
