I mentioned in one of my previous posts that I wanted to try to get a shot of Corona's (another capuchin) smile. Well this is not Corona, this is Charlie... Another one of our free ranging capuchins where I work. A primatologist that comes to study these monkeys enlightened me about this smiling (brow flashing) behavior. He told me that this behavior could be submissive, but the fact that she (yes it is a she, despite the name) followed me everywhere and smiled, it could be flirtatious behavior. I thought that was pretty neat.

Cool pose and nice framing here Rick. This is one of the few times that the light in the eye - her left one - might be a little too much. Still an interesting portrait - kind of surprising to see. I think I opened my eyes the same way when I saw it.

I think she's kind of cute, but I'm married so...The mole to the left of the nose kind of reminds me of Madonna.
It must be incredibly rewarding to work w/ these animals. Great, great shot in every way.

Fantastic photo. So crisp and the emotion is perfect. It's as if one of the Wicked Witch's flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz have landed on my window sill and is looking in at me.
