One of the first sounds of Spring in this area is the song (if you can call it that) of the House Wren. We have two pairs nesting in the yard this year and they can be a little noisy at times.

Woooah CVT---this is a great image!. It's really amazing how cool looking regular old house birds look when up close and photographed correctly.
You did a GREAT job here.

Perfect DOF to isolate the bird from its background and let the yellow gape draw the viewers attention. I really like this. Not nits at all.

This is NICE! I really like the detail you captured in the feathers and the DOF is perfect.

Oh man , if I could take shots like this, I would be in the avian forum with ya. LOL, what a shot Charlie. Gorgeous work with a wonderful soft, natural background and the colours are beautifully held. Sure is one happy looking camper this one and I can almost hear it. Fantastic selective focus.
All the best way up north. If this is spring up your way, move over.
Danny.

Congratulations, Charlie, on the Pick for the house wren. It is such a compelling photograph technically and symbolically.

Charlie,
I missed seeing this one also when it was posted. Lovely image of this singing wren. I don't know , but the branch on bg looks a little distracting. Congrats on the EP .
