Wonderful image so far everyone!

Well this might not win any prizes for gorgeous nature photography, but thought it would fit the challenge nicely  This was taken one brisk late October day about ten years ago, from the summit of 14,148' Mt. Democrat, near Alma Colorado. Luckily the snow wasn't deep enough to keep us from climbing, but the wind sure meant we didn't stay on top for long. This rime ice is a good testament to that.

Brent, Thanks for posting. I've not been to Alma since Willie Morrison was Mayor and I know that's ten years + ago.

That's one nasty cold shot

You picked up some awesome light here playing on the bg mountain against the clouds.

Really interesting shot.

All I can say is WOW! I cannot imagine such cold, ice and snow except through the photos I see on this forum.

Brent, what is the diagonal object with the ice?

Thanks,

Thanks everyone!

Carol, sorry about that, I meant to say! :) It's basically just a wooden stick being used as a summit marker. If you look close at the top, you can see someone left behind some cool artwork. :)
