WOW! Is this for real?? I didn't know that in Italy we could spot such huge moon!
The mist is a big plus for this suggestive image.

Definitely one of the best photos which includes the moon that I have ever seen. With the mist around the trees this is way over the top.

An evocative and surreal image. The monotone foreground really works well with the colored moon and clouds. New ideas here, at least to me.

Beautiful shot, I expect to see the headless horsman and a flaming pumpkin come charging out of the trees there.

Paolo,
INCREDIBLE! At first I thought this had to be a composite, but the moon looks right for 400mm and the top of the tree can be seen inthe moon as well.
This is just oozing with mood. Congratulations!

This is one of the most captivating images I've seen in a long time Paolo... very well done! Keep waiting for that very last shot!! Can I ask, why f32? ...Or, why the long shutter speed?

Yes Brian, of course you can ask. The lens I used is a very good lens, very sharp and it always produces beautiful colours. But it's pretty old and without auto focus. Therefore, just to be sure to have everything on focus, I used the minimum available aperture. The long exposure has slightly blurred the Moon, something that can be only noticed on the full size picture, but nothing that cannot be managed with a bit of unsharp mask.

Absolutely striking image! The best 'natural' moonrise image I've ever seen. So many have tried to capture a vision like this and you are one of the very rare individuals to succeed and you nailed it perfectly. Congratulations! I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this on the cover of NPN next month.

Outstanding moon here Paolo!
About the comp. looks great for me, even the darker left area unbalances a bit what favors the image IMO. Mood is waay dramatic, looks straight out of a terror movie for me...
Awesome work.
