Subtitle: Bassrise - Moonrise

Last night I posted a landscape of the scene behind me in this photo. John Benway commented "Nicely seen and done" so I could not resist posting this photo of what I was really doing in that little bay on Lake Lila in the Adirondacks. (3-day wilderness kayak trip) After releasing the smallmouth, I spent the next hour photographing the sunset and moonrise while wading in the rushes.

Hi there angler! That's a nice shot. Welcome to NPN, BTW :)

Do you fly fish too? I don't, but have gotten interested in fishing recently after I gave my friend moral support for two days non-stop while he tried his luck fly-fishing atlantic salmons.

Since then I've been wondering about learning river-walking techniques to learn how to shoot from the middle of shallow rivers, especially in winter.

If anyone checks back ...
Ashutosh -- Yes I fly fish while wading, but these days spend more time in my kayak. I don't think I could handle fly fishing from the kayay usless I left the camera home, and that's not gonna happen.
Toni -- Fish looks bigger due to wide angle, but it was really good for a SMB - just over 18" -- best any of us have seen from that lake.

Oh, so now the truth comes out but I can't blame you Wayne. Fishing is my second favorite past time and I know from experience that an 18" smallmouth gave you all you could handle. Imagine on a 5 weight flyrod. Now we've got two things in common. Take care. John
