Kevin Mcneal

A shot of Kevin Mcneal (this weeks man and nature editors pick) from a recent trip to Ruby Beach. Sometimes it's nice to see the face behind the lens.

I hope that this photo is not completely off the mark as far as content goes. I know it is supposed to be mostly nature themed. Please let me know if I am crossing boundaries I shouldn't.

What a superb portrait of a man pursuing his passion! The setting, light and composition are first-class. I would suggest we eventually move this to the NPN Photographers gallery.

Wow. The lighting on this portrait is amazing. I could see something like this in an annual report.

Thanks Jim. I forgot to add lighting details. I had a 3373(light stand)/SB-26/white umbrella, all of which I had carried down on the side of my lowepro, and just hand held the lightstand from upper left for the shot. It only took about a minute or so to get in a decent portrait before getting down to business....landscape:)

Well-done Darrian! Maybe PNWNP members should be hiring you to do the rest of our portraits!

Not at all sure where Ruby Beach is, but the photo turned out great. Excellent use of light here. I'm glad you explained the technique & equipment. That's what the forum is all about--helping others learn.
