Cherry Blossoms 1

One of my favorite spring time flowers to shoot is the flowering cherry blossoms. One day they suddenly appear and it seems a few days later they are gone but while they are here there is nothing more special than to stand under these flowering branches with the sunlight streaming through lighting up these beautiful flowers. Here is a little mini series from this past Spring. I had one foot out of the "box" while shooting and processing this one.

Larry, I am happy to be the first to enjoy this beauty and to congratulate you on the splendid work. I love the delicacy, the elegance, the silky colors, the transparencies. I like all of your work: angle, BG, composition, square frame ... . Bravissimo!!
Cheers.

Larry, Very pretty. Very different flavour to this - love the light coming through the petals. The strong highlight at the very top bothers me a bit though.

A very pretty and delicate image Larry. I like the pink around the edges of the blossoms. My only nit is I might like a bit more DOF, and I'm not quite sure about the bright BG spot at the top center. I'll have to look at that some more. Anyway, there's my 2 cents worth.

The lightness of the image is captivating. You have truly done justice to one of my favorite spring flowers, which I think are very hard to shoot properly. Great photograph. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Maybe "out of the box" but it works very well, especially with some blue sky in the background.

Larry, the flowers are magnificent. You preserved their delicacy beautifully. IMVHO, I would suggest toning down the white background at 12:00. I think it distracts from the image.

Absolutely beautiful, Larry! What an amazing reminder of the days of spring. I actually like the really bright background at the top. It gives an indication of the intensity of a spring sky! Thanks for reminding us about spring!

I firmly believe that out of the box is good Larry! And this is no exception, it is wonderful. I love the soft look, and the composition is top notch. A real eye grabber!

The blossoms are almost lighter than the air that surrounds them... great job Larry! Since you do predominately floral work, I would love to get your opinion on my "Abstract Rose". Thanks again for your past comments!

This is very beautiful. The blossom on the right is the final center of interest to me, but the initial impact makes it a charming photograph from first glance. Spiffy composition too - I notice the vee shape of the out of focus blossoms in the foreground. They support the subject very nicely indeed.
