This is the final image in a series of 4 that has proved to be both challenging and rewarding. I have tried to keep the same perspective as far as the dof, bg and pov and to maintain the same plane of shooting. It has been fun and tried my paitence more than once. I hope the completed image has been worth the effort, but I have learned much along the way.Your comments and suggestions have been most helpful and encouraging, and I would suggest trying this yourself if you are so inclined. Thank you all.
The specs: Canon 20D, 100mm macro, ISO 100, Tripod with Kirk ballhead, remote release, the plamp and diffusion screen, 1/100 sec @ f/2.8 and my patience.

Thank you all for responding so kindly, I must however give credit where credit is due. Mary, the framing that you see is based on George Hall and his series on Lilacs a short while back. George was very kind to share with me his technique which I have adapted to this image. Possible bookmark ?
Perhaps George will post an article for all of us on how to do this if we were to encourage him. Thanks again George, greatly appreciated.

All great shots wonderfully presented. I am surprised at how sharp it all is at 2.8.

A quick note on the dof. If you notice in the upper right corner there is one petal that is out of focus. It was hanging down at a very slight angle and was off the plane of focus. Plane of focus was very critical in capturing these images, I have numerous attempt that were just off a bit until I I got the focal plane just right. Like I said earlier, my patience was tried.

Jeff: The clean-up hitter is supposed to be the stud of the lineup and this qualifies. This is a no doubter H O M E R U N! Superior capture and presentation. >=))>

I'm a total novice when it comes to shooting flowers, but all I can say is wow this shot is great. I love the clarity of the petals and the center. Very nice Jeffrey

Thanks Jeffrey for sharing this series that I have very much enjoyed. The adult flower is splendid and the BG is simply great. I don't know if these are SOA pictures only because shot with f/2.8. I am not the expert. They seem to me normal but beautiful photos, all four.
Bravo! Cheers.
