I've been an NPN member for a few years but I'm just getting around to posting a photo. I participate here in spurts, but I've learned a lot and I really enjoy the community here.

Nature photography is a hobby for me at this point. IF someone wants to purchase my work, I'll certainly oblige them, but I don't actively sell my photos... yet... probably after I retire from my day job.

I first picked up a camera at about age 8. I begged my father for weeks to get me a camera for my birthday. He got me a Kodak 110 Instamatic cartrige camera. I don't know what ever happened to it, but I just about put Dad bankrupt with it... draw your own conclusions...

In 1985, my folks gave me a a Pentax P3 for Christmas; a month before my only child (son) was born. This time I just about put myself into bankruptcy!

Anyway, I really got serious about nature photography sometime in 2000. I now shoot a Digital Rebel (300D) and I'm hoping to upgrade it sometime this year. I have a humble assortment of lenses and gadgets. I'm not Gallen Rowell, Marc Adamus, or Ansel Adams, but I really enjoy my hobby, and I do tend to fall in love with my own images at times.

Woodland, Washington is my home town, but I really grew up in White Salmon, Washington, which is situated at the east end of the Columbia River Gorge. Gifford Pinchot National Forest was almost literally my back yard. The nearest border was within 10 minutes of our house.

GPNF and the Gorge are still my favorite places to play, and I have a self assignment to photograph both thoroughly over the coming decades.

If you're ever in the Pacific Northwest, drop me a line and we'll go shooting.

:wavey:

p.s. This is me atop Sleeping Beauty Peak, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington.
