Morning Contemplation at the Wave

Another shameless self portrait

The conditions were really bad, the wind was whipping. This is the same morning I lost my favorite lens to a brutal gust of wind. I was thinking about where to go next and thought I'd take a photo of myself.

I had a lot of fun playing around with PS CS3, the new B&W tools as well as new tonality tools are a lot of fun.

I like this !! It looks like you're looking at the windy water and wondering if it will ever get glassy smooth for "The Shot". Looks like it didn't happen

You're a better man than me... if I had just lost my favorite lens, my self portait would be of me jumping off some tall ledge. Seriously this is one of the most interesting self portraits I've seen. I too can't wait to get my hands on the new CS3 B&W tools, thx for the feedback.

The best landscape self-portraits I have seen. The composition really FLOWS.

Great portrait, Zack, but it would have been a good shot without you in it also.

The problem with self-portraits is that they are, by nature, contrived. That doesn't keep this from being a compelling and nicely executed photograph. It's too bad you couldn't set up a camera with your chosen composition, stand in front, and have the shutter release when you least expect it  . This is getting to be less of a critique/comment and more a random musing...sorry.

Nice shot Zack. I agree, B&W conversion in the new CS3 is a breeze. Sorry to hear about your lens, but congrats on the EP.
