I photographed this young Probocis Monkey drinking from a tidal stream in the mangroves of Bako National Park, Borneo. Cropped slightly for comp.

Wow, this is different. The red coloration of the monkey against the grey mud is very interesting. The chewed-off trees give this an even more "planet of the apes" look. I think the shot could stand a little more contrast imho.

Nate,
a nice moment and well captured. I like also the inclusion of the mangroves surroundings.

I've been to Borneo and to this location and I know how difficult it can be to get a decent photo of these primates. Well done.

Nate, primates are one of the heights of my wildlife interests, so that fact added to the amazing pose and setting I have to say this image is top notch!

It's the eye contact and intimacy from the photographer being at nearly the same level as the subject that does it for me. Excellent work.

Great photo Nate, I really like the pose! IMHO the only improvement would be a little more contrast.

Congratulations, well deserved honor. From his expression, I don't think he trusts you too much, and I don't know whether the water would be to my taste. Great image!
