Blue Moon Mountain

This shot was taken at Sparks Lake last fall. The moon and the mountain were shot about 3 minutes apart. The moon did not fit into the frame so I moved it across the sky a bit to its current resting place. I thought it looked cool with the crescent glow of the moon...

I love this, with or without the moon. Very peaceful! Perfect composition with the trees and mountain making diagonals throughout.

Beautiful work, Rick. If anything, I'd like to see a bit more sky at the top of the frame to give the moon more room.

Rick, I love the simplicity of lines and flow of dark and light contrast you presented here. Lovely use of blue and the lighting of the moon. Amazing image.

glad you won that EP, otherwise I rarely look at this gallery. this is great and should be a great seller as a poster, or so. I'm glad you didn't overdo the size of the moon in relation to the landscape, as it is so often done. Very good work. Georg

Hi Rick,

Interesting moon. I've never seen a crescent moon with as much afterglow to it; almost a surrealistic feeling.
