Greater Sage-Grouse

Hi all,

It was just this time last year when I was shooting sage-grouse in Wyoming while I worked on a research project out there. It's tremendous fun, and something I'd highly recommend for anyone who gets the chance. I imagine that any of the lekking galliforms are a blast to shoot, but sage-grouse leks are particularly huge and spectacular :)

Great image Neil. You exposed the whites quite well. Nicely composed too. I've been to a lek before too but unfortunately the "camera hole" was too small!

I don't think it gets better than this! Great shot, Neil. I'm working to get to a Greater Prairie Chicken lek this spring and this image just makes me itch to get out there and shoot.

Hello Neil, I photographed these guys at least a dozen times in eastern Oregon and western Colorado. I don't believe I ever got an image this good. I always seem to blow out my whites. At any rate, Neil, you've done an excellent job here!
