The joy of blooming

Due to the warm minter I set up two records in my garden. This is the first (the second in the next upload): this osteospermum is blooming restless since 12 months and will go on till next september. Its normal blooming time is thee month in the summer season.
Nevertheless it has the appearence of blowing up for blooming again.

Normal minimum adjustements in PS. These are the real colors of this nice flower.

Thanks for your comments and help.

Hey Gigi, This is really nice I like the blue, it contrast very well with the white petals. :toast:

Gigi...very nice :toast: petals provide strong graphic component to the image and the white and blue work well together.

Very pretty Gigi, and a very cool shot. Those petals look like the tail feathers of an exotic bird. I love the center of the flower, and the lighting is very nice.

Steve, a lateral ray of sun discovered the young, still short flower inside the shadowy bush. Exposing Spot on the highest light the stark shadows behind the flower became black (a little help with Curve in PS).
Thanks for your interest. Cheers.

I love the composition here Gigi. It has a very granular look on my screen however. How about some details of exposure etc. just to help my curiosity. Great image. :toast:

WOW! I think that says it for this one - but, I'll add, congratulations on an outstanding image!

I am glad to do it, Rick:
- Nikon D2X - Nikkor F200mm macro - 1/125 sec., f/22, exp. Spot on the highlights at 0EV, ISO 400, manual focus, tripod, all camera setting of default. In post: PS, Curves for lowering the contrast in the flower and levelling the black in the BG.
Yes it is grainy and I don't know exactly why. There was some wind so I had to high the ISO and D2X don't stand it; but 400 is not much and I was not able to get rid of it with Neat Image. This is strange. It is not a product of post pruduction works as it is present in the original RAW.
Thanks for your interest about the picture and for the warm help of your comments.
Take care.

All my apologies, Gigi! From the thumbnail, I thought it was infrared, of which I am decidedly not a fan. But noooo! When I saw it as the EP winner and opened the larger image.... There! you did it again with the subtle color and tack sharp detail in blue center. Masterful. Flora forum has been crazy good lately, and it's great to have you in there. :toast:
