I watched this guy hunting for a bout 45 minutes. Photo was taken right at dusk so I was quickly losing light. 1DsMkII, 500/f4, ISO 500, shutter 1/1000, handheld. Any comments appreciated.

Great behavior and action. Looks like it might be a little soft though.

I noticed the softness too but it doesn't show up on the original file. I also noticed another one I posted was soft, while the original was not. I'm new to posting here. Is there something happening during the upload process to cause this?

Nice timing. Did he get whatever he was after?

Great pose and action! Indeed a bit soft. Just sharpen the compressed (720 px) image using USM or Smart sharpen. When re-sizing images, they loose sharpness!

I'd apply a little more sharpening, otherwise a great photo, I really like the action!

Such intensity and sense of purpose and determination and calculation. Wow. And the lighting really makes this with all the gold tones. Patience really paid off! Dynamic, exciting photo, Don. :toast:

This is awesome.

I've watched a fox doing the same thing, which was awesome to see.So this must have been a great sight.

Well done :toast:
