Linville Gorge light and color (a nod to Leann!)

The rain had finally stopped (mostly), but what remained was being backlit by the rising sun. Very cool place, this Wiseman's View. I'd put it up there with a lot of places in Colorado.

Wow, this is some of the most amazing light I have seen. I'm impressed there's no evidence of flare. What lens did you use here?

This is very nice, Todd. I'm also amazed that you got no flare. Was this a prime lens?

Thanks, Guy(s). I took this with my Tamron 24-135mm lens. What you don't see is the evidence of my gloved hand, which I cropped off the top of the image before posting. Without it, this was flare city.

Wonderful colors, nice vibrant shot. Somehow this image conveys a 3-D feeling others don't. Well done.

Well Leann, we missed you by one and two days. Jerry and I were there as the storm arrived and the rain moved in, filling the gorge with fog, and then on Saturday morning for sunrise, which is when this shot was taken.

On Sunday we were at my favorite point of the entire trip: Atlanta Motor Speedway!!! (Although my dream of Tony Stewart involved in a lap one crash didn't materialize. Quite the contrary. Ugh. )

Great use of flare to create a dramatic moment. Really a neat take on this subject.

Great image Todd, nice work controlling the flare, I have quite a few shots with a hand just showing on the edge.

Sheeez, that's great! Beautiful light and wonderful vantage point. Even the little things like the complimentary colors of the two main trees make this good to the last drop.

Nice light and color, Todd. IIWM (If It Were Mine), I'd be inclined to increase the symmetry by lopping off the right side. Those with the 2:3 format need to remember that cropping is permitted

Beautiful image, I like how the round curve of the flared light mimics the opposite curve of the midground hill. If I'm being honest, I don't like the electric blues, as in the foreground rocks. Perhaps a little less saturation or adjust the cyan selectively? Otherwise, really nice. Tim

Very sweet shot, Todd. I love the glow.

You could've been in my shoes on Sunday; at work watching the Colts v Broncos game

Excellent shot and thanks for sharing
