Pasture

This was taken this past Sunday. We had some snow in our higher regions over the weekend. This is the pasture just below the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT. These are some of the Scottish Higland Cattle that are pastured there. I've always loved these furry cattle! I liked the curve of the land here with the mountain behind and the bits of snow mixed in the grass and the warm colors of the cows.

Very cool image Michelle, I have never seen this type of cattle before, they really give it a old world look. Great job, :toast: :toast:

Very nice Michelle

You tricked me - I assumed this WAS Scotland. These creatures are common here and they are very photogenic. They have a habit of lying in the middle of the single track roads, but I'm never tempted to ask them to move!

Nice! I like the sense of tension in the stance of the front steer. :toast:

This is wonderful, Michelle. It wouldn't have the same impact w/o the patches of snow. Vermont is near the top of my long "need to visit" list.

Wonderful scene Michelle. I love all cattle (on the hoof and on the plate), but the long hair of the this breed are indeed beautiful. A very picturesque scene - at first I thought this was from europe.

Yep I also was tricked about the location. The way they are facing different directions makes for nice leading lines. You can't help but stare at each cow.

Beautiful idyllic scene, Michelle,

I love the rolling hills. If we could only make our subjects pose, I would have liked to have seen the guy on the far right facing towards the left; that would have really made the image.

Thanks for sharing.

Very harmonic and well balanced shot, I like it for the same reasons like you. Natural colors, well chosen camera point.
