Great Gray Youngster
by Dennis Patrick Lor
We found two recently fledged Great Grays in Finland of which this one chose a photogenic, low perch. They weren't shy at all and we were able to wait until one of the parent birds came back with a vole. Unfortunately the food transfer happened behind a bunch of leafs and twigs. Then the mosquitos "persuaded" us not to wait for the adult to return a second time...

An image to put a smile on anyones face, the detail in the Owlet, branch & surrounding leaves are perfect, showing so much detail. Wildlife photography at its best

Wow, very cool! I've seen only one of these guys, and I can only imagine how neat it must have been to see the adult and young together. Great image, and thanks for the story!
