I don't really like the tree in this, but if I changed angles I would have lost the rimlighting. Too many choices .

Tree is OK by me. The light was the most important thing. You even managed to get a catchlight in the eye somehow! A great example of a near silhouette, but you were able to keep color and detail in the animal.

Pity the tree is there, but a very nice image. Love the lighting and a beautiful animal also.
Well done.

No problem with the tree - it's sufficiently out of focus, while the deer is wonderfully back-lit and sharp. The antlers, with their rims of light, are really striking.

It is a very nice shot which would have been excellent if the tree was excluded.

Hi Pete! I think if the tree was any part behind the bull then it would be a distraction but since he is free and clear of it to be backlit like that, I don't mind the tree at all. Very NICE!!!

I woul like to see more of a head turn, but the rimlighting more than makes up for it. Sweet shot.

I would like to see just a little more room at the top, the tree is okay by me, and just love that backlighting on the antlers.
Great shot!

Pete,
when I opened the photo I tought: "a pitty that the tree is so dominant". Then I read your comment. I must say that I agree with your statment, on the other hand I would be happy with the image
