This photo was taken in the far reaches of Northern Quebec last winter. It was -21 degrees plus wind chill, but worth every frozen finger and toes!

If your fingers and toes fall off and you never hold a camera again, this was worth it!
Over-the-top incredible and dynamic and heart-stoppingly superb!

Excellent photo! I only seem to find this species as bumps in the distance in heavy overcast.

When I see these owls comin' atcha photos, I always have doubts as to whether a live mouse was used at bait, a practice that is absolutely deplorable to me. If you did that for the sake of getting a photo, then shame on you, if not then :toast: .

I spent last winter trying to get a shot like this. I got lucky once when a juvenile jumped off a fencepost and I was in his turn radius. This is an incredible image. Congratulations. David, whereabouts in Quebec were you. Regards.

Fabulous shot!! Reminds me of last winter when we had a Snowy "irruption" here in the Seattle area. One snowy had in fact taken temporary residence at a nearby park and gave easy photo ops. I bagged a few shots too but they were nowhere near as good as this one. Awesome!!
