Bosque Mist - with Repost
by Keith Bauer
This is an image captured on a day I'm sure I'll never forget. I was stunned to see this light, let alone have the opportunity to photograph it.
Sunrise at Bosque Del Apache NWR. It was a cold morning and a fairly humid morning as well. The foreground of the image is ice. The "steam" rising around the snow geese created this surreal look as they broke through the thin layer of ice. As the sun came over the horizon, the sky turned this incredible orange. The silhouetted flying goose on the left is the result of other geese between the sun and that goose. Pure luck, but I'll take it.
There were no filters used and only small levels adjustments made in Photoshop to prepare this image.

I'd crop some from the bottom, otherwise a stunning photo!
What a great photo, well done.

and three of these
I'll agree with others about cropping a bit off the bottom. Other than that, WOW this is nice :) The one very dark bird is quite dramatic, an interesting effect. Sweet image!

It looks great as is, and there are dozens of ways you could crop it too. Arthur Morris has a well known photo that is similar. This one is just as good. I've never seen the light like this at Bosque.

Stunning Shot one of the best I have seen from Bosque, Congrats on your EP. Were you alone when you took this image or was there other photographers there as well, must have been a magical moment.

Fantastic work and congratulations on being at the right place at the right time. I'm curious... how many other shots did you take in this series (or how long were you at this location)? The reason I ask is that we always see the amazing photos like this one, but we rarely see the other 50 or 100 shots in the series that were maybe just mediocre. (not that your shots are mediocre.)
