This image is a composite of two shots. The background is a shot of a reflected sunset. The original had trees and houses in it as well. It was processed using the Buzz filter and a touch of posterize edges. The bird was shot in mid-afternoon while flying almost directly overhead. I played with the color until the bird matched the sunset colors and cropped to get the presentation you see here.

For both:
Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel (300D)
Lens: Tamron 28-300mm EX Di LD

Background Picture: f/11, 1/15s, 109mm, ISO-100
Goose: f/5.6, 1/500s, 119mm, ISO-100

I'm not normally a fan of mixed images, but this is an exception. You did a subtlely convincing job of matching the bird to the sky. Very nice.

Great composition; you did a fantastic job matching the pink glow, and keeping the sunlight coming from the same direction. I love the graduation of colors in your bg. I would even like this without the goose, outstanding. :toast: :toast:

Thanks so much, Everyone! This is the third crop I did of this composite image, and my favorite. The original had trees and houses in it, the first crop had just the tree tops. Both had their charms, but this one seems to have a little something extra that makes it more pleasing for some reason. I intend to get it blown up, at least for a calendar page if not for the wall...

Thanks again! :wavey:

I would have sworn your were in a plane traveling alongside - great PS work. Congrats on the EP. Very well deserved.
