Pastel Moonrise
by Bill Chambers
I captured this as the sun was starting to set behind me. I usually try to catch the 2 days/month when the moon's rising at the same approx. time the sun's setting. This was taken 1 day early, hence the moon so high in the sky, but the gulf was so calm and peaceful due to a north wind that I went ahead and shot. I was glad I did, because the next afternoon clouds obscured the moonrise altogether.

I think this is my favorite of yours! Wonderful colors! I love that you chose not to sharpen it. I too, would have stayed until dark. Simply magical.

A simple colour palette is very attractive. Together with simple design it makes this photo very pleasant to look at.
