Canon S2 IS
ISO 50, 1/1000 @ f4, -2/3EC

Drought conditions this winter and spring portend a weak wildflower season but I found these two at Washington on the Brazos State Park this morning.

Living up here in the still cold North, I have to ask not to post such photos. It makes summer seem too far off

Seriously, I like to color combinations you have going on here. Perhaps a diffuser on the flowers, at least as a test shot. I suspect that the background might blow out if you do that, but it might have been worth trying.

Dan: I did use a diffuser shooting this with my film camera. With the S2 I ran out of hands. I forgot to mention that I used a +1D filter that I have to hand hold and every time I tried to let go of the diffuser it got away from me. It was probably kind of funny to watch. The cardinals and mocking birds seemed to enjoy the show.

As another Texas photographer faced with a dry spring and almost none of the usuals out yet, I envy you this find...and what a good job you did with it! Bluebonnets and paintbrush define our springs.
