Snowy Owl
by Ken Archer
I spent a wonderful afternoon with this owl on Monday, happily shooting portraits and preening sessions in over cast light. All the while I was watching an opening of clear sky on the horizon, knowing the light would be intense when the sun popped through and hoping the owl was content stay with me. Just as the sun was peeking under the clouds she glided away, my heart ached as I watched her fly. But it was almost as if she was telling me that there was a better spot for photos in this beautiful light. She alighted on this unique stump a few hundred yards away.
All comments and suggestions very much appreciated.

the light is very nice and the background adds a dramatic mood to the image.
This is a fantastic image - love the perch bird and BG. Very minor nit the light is just that bit too warm for me - perhaps 10 minutes earlier. That said it is so good I still love it!
