1dmk2, iso 400, 1/320 at f8, 100mm macro with ext tubes, hh. taken at The Living Desert butterfly exhibit in Palm Desert, CA two weeks ago. In such a small exhibit it was hard to find a BG that was clean, but it was a breath of fresh air seeing all the BFs flying around. Thanks for looking.

Beautifully composed, Renae. The in focus stem on the right sets the butterfly further into the image, and especially with the out of focus stem bending across the bottom. I like this a lot.

This shot has a post card feel to it. I love the touches of saturated colors here.
My only nit is the right stem to the right of the butterfly....it can be easily corrected!

Hi Renae,

I like the idea of this image and I feel you should have include a bit more of the OOF fowewr at the top right corner, by pointing the camera a bit more to the left and up. This would have create an imaginary diagonal across the image, wher on one site one has the butterfly and on the other site a nice red flower... Just my toughts...

That's beautiful.I like the view under the wings and the openness of the background. Very good.

Beautiful image, what I like most is the unique perspective you shot.

Cosmos is a favorite of mine, and the butterfly looks almost weightless sitting on the edge of one. I'd be pleased with a photo like this. It's lovely.
