Pete,
very nice light conditions and an appealing image. I may have consider to crop away the foreground which is in shade or to point the camera a bit higher.

Wow Pete! Not only is this an original (to me anyway, I haven't seen many deep winter scenes from Yellowstone before) but the composition and colors are superb. Did you ski in?

I find this really compelling, and original. Just when you think you have seen every view of Old Faithful, here is something new. Like the other geysers in the bg, too.

This is great. It looks as hellacious as it really is. I like how the main plume is lit orange while the others get progressively darker. and against the dark sky background. One of the best I've seen.

Super light, and an unsual comp - nothing like I've seen before. For those of us who've ever viited yellowstone before it's hard to grasp the scale of the image. Are those full grown trees in the BG, and how far away are they? Very nice.

Oh yeah, the cool/warm color contrasts are the icing on the cake.

NGS Quality. Superb.
How long did your batteries last?
Btw - I think in california they have laws against temps getting that cold.

I like the light on this oft shot icon. I might go for a crop of the foreground as well

Hey, thanks everyone. I didn't expect that kind of response for a shot before the geyser went off (it's always releasing steam in the winter).

Definitely worth the deep freeze! I love the near spot-lighting effect on the geyser. Beautiful photograph!
