Canon EOS 5,Tamron 90mm Macro lens,remote release,mlu,Av,Benbo Mk.1 tripod,Metz 40Mz3i flash used as fill to lighten stem.

Fuji Velvia 50.Epson FilmScan 200.

A couple of weeks before Christmas,I came across this colourful toadstool growing out of a dead fallen branch. Two things which I like about this specimen are the way the colourful red cap contrasts with the darker colours of the branch and the redish liquid which seems to be oozing from the stem.If anyone has any idea as to the ID,I'd be interested to know.

All comments are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks for looking.

I can understand why these caught your eye, my guess would be something they brought back from Mars

On a more serious note I think you have created an extremely well composed & eye-catching shot. And the red upon the mushrooms appear to be also luminous.

Best regards

What a great capture Justin and what an interesting species - I'm mad about those droplets. With that great light I hope you worked this one silly. Nice post!

Justin, I never seen fungi like this before, and certainly not with the droplets. It all makes for a very interesting and well taken photograph.
