The sweeping grey stone beach of Ardmair Bay a few miles North of Ullapool is backed by a most impressive mountain ridge. It is however rarely lit, on this occasion patches of light spattered it and transformed the slopes rust red (bracken) and grey (rock)it was a further lengthy wait before the sun struck the cottages and spit of land as well.

Fantastic in every way! Don't think I've been there but I know the Ullapool midge very well.

It's true, Ian, when it was said, "fortune favors the prepared mind." Nicely done.

Ian, bravo! :toast: Outstanding and beautiful work. I love the depth; the way the shore pulls me in; the fantastic light (your patience was rewarded); the dramatic sky; and the sense of place created by the cottages.
