Yep, you guessed it. It's still raining here but not officially. On Sunday it didn't rain at the airport where the weather station is so the fact that it continued to rain downtown doesn't count (for the weather office anyway).

For the rest of us it's now day 29!
So here's an eagle taken up in Squamish on Sunday when it wasn't raining (officially). The diagonal rain streaks in the background must have been imaginary!! Nevertheless Kwan and I had a nice day up there though the eagles were few and far between. I think the heavy rains and resultant high river levels have washed away a lot of the salmon carcasses so the eagles have started to go elsewhere.
Techs: Canon 1DII, 500 f4 with 1.4 TC, ISO 400, f9, 1/200, EV-2/3, fill flash -1 1/3.

40 commentsAs nice as any eagle shot I've seen! Beautiful details in shadow and highlight.

I should add that Ed, with tripod, braved the rain by setting up behind the car and using it as a "hide". I, on the other hand, was warmer using a beanbag on the car window!
Stunning wildilife photography this is superb I love it.
Great portrait - perfect!

Thats a teriffic image, the backgound is spot on, the rain also adds to the effect, images like these are ones that amatuers like me can hopefully work up to.
Thanks for your comments on the Beach Stone-curlew, am currently trying to remedy it.

I understand that it is not officially raining and we can't have that, so please send the unofficial stuff this way.

I know I told KC, that I will not to post a comment here, after all 33 comments is enough for you. But then I just cannot resist the 34th comment -
It's awesome! Ed
I, too, missed this one the first time around but luckily caught it in the EP gallery. Phenomenal! The touch of fill flash really makes this one pop, and you've balanced the flash against the background perfectly. Amazing!
Good shooting,
