Rose Catching Snow

The first real accumulation of snow came this morning. This lonely rose was still holding out in my garden. I liked the way it was catching the white flakes.

1DMK2 with 100 macro. Evaluative metering at ISO 400 with EV - 1/3. 1/640 and f 5.6 hand held. Cropped from top and bottom. This is about 80% of original. Levels and sharpening applied.

I really like this shot. Good choice of dof to blur the background. Fairly good detail in the snow too, which we all know is not that easy
