Balloon Fest

I noticed a few images of balloons on the site, so I thought I would add one I took over Labor Day Weekend. The town of Dansville has a Balloon Fest every year. It's kind of fun. Only problem is that this year they would not let us get the sun behind us, so we were always shooting strong side light or back light.

I do like the whimsical way they appear in the sky - kind of like Christmas Tree decorations hanging in front of you.

1DMK2 24-85 @30mm. Partial Metering at ISO 200 with EV -1 and f9 with 1/100 hand held. Polarizer used. Slight crop from top and bottom.

Thanks for looking. all comments are most welcome.

I love the composition, with the top to bottom perspective. It creates enormous depth in the pic. This is one of the better balloon pics I've ever seen. Reno, Nevada has balloon races every year, and I've never seen anything this good posted from them. they even have a contest. The clouds just really put it over the top. Great photo. :toast:

One of the better balloon shots I've ever seen. The perfect sky and balloons at different heigths and distance all contribute to that.

The clouds, placement of the balloons, clarity, and DOF make this a fantastic shot Ed. I love it!

Ed - this is terrific. Can you post it over on TPN? I am sure it would get a lot of feedback over there.
