Canon 10D, Canon 17-40mm L @ 40mm, 1/200 sec @ f11, Manual mode,

Hi,

Took this one a couple of weeks ago in The New Forest,England.
Got to my chosen location at 5.30am in plenty of time for any pre-sunrise colour.
Happily shooting away for a while when these two backpackers emerged from the mist and bushes.
Managed just a single frame before they moved on.

All comments welcome as always, but would especially appreciate any opinions on which version works best, the panoramic cropped one posted, or the bigger full frame version HERE

Justin,

wounderful :toast:

I like the different layers fpund in the image. Also the placement of the foreground bushes and the background tree is very nice. It creates a imageinary diagonal that benefits the composition. The lack of colors creates also a nice monochromatic image that is just highlighted by the sun's colors...

Wonderful image. I like the silhouettes, and I like the pano version best, as there is too much dark foreground in the original. :toast:

It's a beauty, for me the pano works best, a little to much black foreground in the full frame version. :toast:

Excellent. The Pano version is my favorite. This has a terrific mood to it. Well done. :toast:

Beautiful mood captured here! I love this photo... Pano for me too. Thanks to the backpackers.. it would be just 'good' w/o them.

Gosh,
I looked at this the other day and still I'm at a loss for words. I really like the mood of this picture. This is the type of picture that reminds me to get out my backpack and spend some quality time with my son

Justin,
Congrats on the Editor's Pick! This is lovely with the layers and the silhouetted backpackers and that foggy sun trying to burn through. Great mood! :toast:

I look through pictures everyday on this forum...your image made me come back to it 3 separate times for another peek. Nice work! Thanks for the inspiration. :jump:
