Tailwater

A river is called a tailwater where it passes through a man-made reservoir and through a dam (usually hydro-electric) where the water is drawn from the cold depths before passing through the turbines. The result is cold, cold water throughout the summer. Good for trout and rising mist in the mornings where the cool water and warm air collide.

I like the misty mood, Richard. I like the depth you attained by the darker trees on the right near foreground, the fisherman, and the mist. The man fishing tells a story about the river. It is a very good image.

Beautiful, I like the light on the trees and the detail in the water.

Excellent, Richard. This should be the cover of Field and Stream. One very relaxing scene. Well done!

Splendid photo! You caught the action just right, and did a great job with this tricky exposure.

Hey, that's not very far from my house! I love to paddle on Little Wilber when it's hot! The water never gets much above 40 degrees, even in the summer! Great shot!
